Khaligraph Jones to Headline Second Chuka Color Festival at Tredds Garden
Superstar rapper Khaligraph Jones is set to headline the second edition of the Chuka Color Festival, scheduled for February 9th, 2024, at Tredds Garden. The festival, described as an opportunity to use colors, flamboyance, and talent to connect people, discover talents, and rejuvenate the youth, will be the second installment of its kind held in Chuka after successful events in various parts of the country.
Over 10,000 attendees are expected to fill up Tredds Garden, with a performance lineup that includes national superstars and a myriad of local talents. Khaligraph Jones will headline the event, joined by sensational emcee Ndovu Kuu and other high-flying acts from the talent-rich CMG Records.
Esteemed acts from the CMG Records roster, such as Kristoff, Dogo Skillz, Control Boy, Emmie Muthiga, and Nakoche, are expected to shake up Chuka town. The event, exclusively sponsored by CMG Records, will also feature local talents from around the larger Meru region showcasing their skills.
Event organizer Francis Mwangi, popularly known as MC Frank, emphasized inclusivity, stating that the aim is not to make it an affair for big shots only. The appeal has been widened, with invites extended to numerous untapped and unknown talents as well. Chuka is on the rise, and Meru is rising along with it, showcasing their capabilities to the world. The event promises to be a night of spectacles and history.
CMG Records CEO Stephen ‘Dezz’ Aoll expressed excitement about the night, stating he was pleased that the label was using the opportunity to showcase their one-year strides and serve as an inspiring platform for lesser-known artists. He mentioned their focus on starting small, climbing up slowly, and ensuring that only the best talents entered their doors.
VIP tickets are priced at Ksh. 1000, while regular ones are set at the very affordable Ksh. 400. Fans are encouraged to secure tickets early as the festival approaches, and tickets are selling out rapidly.
The Color Festival, one of the largest music and performing arts festivals in Kenya, occurs annually, attracting thousands of young people seeking a good time, great music, and even greater experiences. MC Frank, the event organizer, acknowledged the tough times Kenyans have faced, stating that they decided to put something together to celebrate the Kenyan spirit and take a weekend off to forget problems, freely throw their hands in the air, and get lost in the glory of music.
